This week I was at Fine Palate, showing my artwork as one of the featured artists of ArtHouse X. Fine Palate had wonderful food and drink. Overall this was a well curated event. The only draw backs were that it was a bit dark of a venue to display art. I also ran in to two collectors of my art that ended up at the event, through total kismet. He was walking by and saw my pink dreads, and thought that it was me, came inside and was plesantly surprised by the venue, and a fellow artist who was displaying with me.
The guys who ran the event are nice guys, they run Altavita Events out of Wilmington, Delaware and this was their first time hosting ArtHouse in Philly. The food, music and art were all perfect. I can't say enough positive about Fine Pallette. The bartender and I hit it off, she made a great old fashioned and her tattoo work was pretty. Yes, I am always looking at cool tattoos, it's art! Anywho, Another positive was that this show was no charge to the featured artists I feel like I have to add that. To share with others that know the art world, that is an important piece of information. ArtHouseX is an event worth taking part in. Go meet your local artists, eat good food, enjoy a drink and some enlightening conversation about art, then take in the live music by some talented local musicians.
