This Friday I attended and took part in the first annual Nude Night Philadelphia. Victor Perez from VGROOVE productions organized this art show which was fantastic. Beautiful Classical Nude artwork was displayed and for sale, with 30% of the sales proceeds, going to breast cancer research.
Light fare was served, live bands preformed, and an arial hoop dancer preformed in the center of it all. Later during the night, her hoop served as a central spot where those courageous enough to try their hand at it.This eccentric crowd of artists, sure knew how to party, and began taking turns dancing, and playing with the hoop as everyone else looked on. I'm glad I captured a bit of the fun on video, because it was one of those unplanned moments during this wonderfully put together event, that embodied that community fun-loving artist vibe.
Perego did two live painting performances that were inspiring to watch. The nude live body painting with UV paints was sensual, sexy, and beautiful. Later that night he also live painted a classical nude portrait, using a live model. The entire process took just under two hours. During those two hours, people watched his painting develop from basic shapes, and forms into the finished portrait. His model was wonderful, and held still in her pose the entire time.
