Paradox and Parahelion

We are made of stardust, forged in the aftermath of the Big Bang. When we look up at the stars, we aren’t just seeing distant lights—we’re seeing a map of our origins, the very elements from which we, and everything around us evolved. This connection to the cosmos isn’t just poetic; it’s fundamental.

We are part of the universe, and its movements resonate within us. The ancient wisdom "As above, so below; as within, so without" reflects this truth—what happens in the cosmos is mirrored in our lives. Those who are attuned to this connection can feel its pull. Women after all are linked to creation and to the moon. Our reproductive cycles are every 28 days.  For centuries, women who have carried forms of knowledge outside sanctioned institutions—midwives, healers, mystics, diviners, and those who lived beyond the boundaries prescribed for them—were feared, punished, or silenced. Their power said to come from supernatural bloodlines, came from intense observation, pattern recognition, knowledge, intimacy with the natural world, and the courage to trust what they perceived.

Religions, that convinced us that god was a man, that taught us to doubt ourselves, that fed us shame, and asked us to believe in something outside ourselves without question, they were designed to dissconnect humanity from your intuition, from your divinity, from looking inward. 

This is a quantum checkpoint: the place where we decide whether consciousness is something happening inside an isolated body, or whether we are participants in a living, interconnected universe.

Intuition is not the opposite of reason. Perhaps it is another form of perception—one we have neglected because it cannot consistently be measured or explained. It is the quiet recognition that arrives before language. The feeling in the body. The collective subconscious that only those of us who still understand archetypal dream symbolism know of.

The invitation is not to abandon reason or accept every mysterious thing as truth. It is to become curious again. To look both outward and inward, and to consider that the same universe forming stars, oceans, forests, and galaxies is still pulsing through us.

You are not separate from the mystery you are the universe trying to understand itself. You are one of its expressions.

This month has been energetically charged. The rare alignment of six planets has intensified the energy around us, creating a sense of both tension and opportunity. It’s as if a cosmic battle between light and shadow is playing out above us. In early January, Mexico and South America witnessed comet ATLAS, also known as Tsuchinshan (Purple Mountain), streaking through the skies. In some traditions, this comet symbolizes the Vav of the Tetragrammaton, a sacred representation of connection and flow.

As we approach January 30, the energy reaches a pivotal moment. The new moon will bring the sun and moon closer than ever before, creating a Perihelion—a moment of paradox. The moon, a symbol of intuition, subconscious, dreams and emotions, will move near the sun’s intense clarity, creating a powerful pull, toward alignment between your heart and mind. Yet, paradoxically, the closer we move toward the light, the more we notice the shadows.

This alignment forces us to confront what we’ve been avoiding that is lurking in the shadows. The universe is asking: What are you holding onto that no longer serves you? You may feel compelled to let go of old habits, relationships, or patterns that have outlived their purpose. This is not a punishment—it’s a chance to clear space for what’s next.

Change is rarely comfortable, but this alignment is shaking loose what is misaligned with your higher purpose. New moons always signal new beginnings, but this one carries greater weight. It’s a crossroads, a checkpoint, a bridge—a "now or never" moment where reflection must give way to action. Choose change, or risk being left behind.

There’s no need for panic or hesitation. Instead, ask yourself: Which path feels aligned, and right for me?

On the same day, Uranus—the planet of rebellion and transformation—will end its retrograde phase. This shift will send a ripple of chaotic energy through the cosmos, breaking apart what no longer serves us. While unsettling, this energy is necessary to make room for fresh opportunities and growth.

The light is urging you to evolve, to step into your highest potential. The shadows may try to hold you back, but this moment asks you to choose: Will you succumb to fear, or will you align with the light?   

This is another kind of checkpoint.

Not a command from the universe, nor a punishment for failing to evolve quickly enough. It is the moment when what we know inwardly becomes impossible to ignore. We recognize the distance between the life we are living and the life asking to be lived through us.

There is no single radiant path called light and no shameful darkness we must defeat. Both belong to us. The shadow is not our enemy; it is what has been hidden, denied, abandoned, or left unnamed. When we turn toward it with curiosity, it gives back the parts of ourselves we were taught to exile. Alignment is not choosing the light over the darkness, it is becoming whole enough to hold them both.
